A New Tracksite Found By Walter Energy |
||
Just after
the middle of October, managers and staff from Walter Energy took PRPRC
palaeontologists to a suspected tracksite they reported that had been
uncovered near Chetwynd during road construction. This is another example
of the exemplary attitude that industry in British Columbia has towards
palaeontological resources. As it was late in the year, and the site was at high elevation there was little that the palaeontologists could do on this visit, except take a few pictures and some notes.
A group of Walter Energy employees viewing the new tracksite.
An ankylosaur trackway (proceeding from top to bottom) on a very friable surface.
A very unusual large theropod trackway.
