Visiting Hudson's Hope

P.R.P.R.C. palaeontologists Rich McCrea and Lisa Buckley were the guests of the Hudson's Hope Museum and the District of Hudson's Hope in mid-June, 2004. They were shown a recently discovered tracksite in the Gething Formation near Hudson's Hope. Most of the known Peace River dinosaur tracksites were flooded between the W.A.C. Bennett and Peace Canyon Dams in 1979. It was good to see potential for dinosaur track research in this area again.

The palaeontologists and fossil enthusiast Wayne Sawchuck were taken to another tracksite discovered by Ft. St. John resident Pamela Turner. This expedition led to the discovery of several different kinds of fossil footprints.
